Top 5 Facebook Emoticons

I’m talking about the Best of the best, cream of the crop, most used Facebook Emoticons ever to invade the chatting world and yes, the world of FB. For now, we don’t have the 2011 top 5 list and I’m pretty sure by the end of this year, half of it will say byebye.

5. Facebook Heart Symbol

On Number Five, there’s the timeless, facebook heart symbol. It’s all so simple, really. There’s a whole lotta love for a whole lotta people out there. And the FB crowd, is so into using the most heartwarming emoticon there is to chat and tell their peanut butter and jelly munchkin the magical three words—“I Love You”.

4. Facebook Devil Emoticon

last year was occupied by the emoticon from Hades’ crib: the Devil Facebook emoticon. Does this mean that there are more angry, scheming, “I’m thinking bad things” moment on FB chat versus all the lovebirds combined? Come to think of it, when something goes wrong big time, it brings out the devil in you. If it were up to me, I’d have five and four reversed.

3. Facebook Robot

Midway our countdown is the mechanical Robot Facebook Emoticon. The creators must’ve been inspired by the awesome movie of the autobots fighting the decepticons. I don’t blame them because I am a fan myself. I wonder what emoticon will be inspired by the movies coming out this year? Is an R2D2 emoticon possible? I mean, it would be just like an emoticon makeover, right? Care to second the motion?

2. Facebook Pacman Emoticons

Classic number two is hard to dethrone. It would be like removing the crown from her majesty, Queen Elizabeth. Impossible. FB users of all ages will always go back to the classic yellow smiling speck inspired by the world famous boxer—Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao! But then again, he got that title because he throws punches the way the video game character gobbles up coins, fruits and ghosts blocking his way.

My top favourite is

Or is it? Yes, I have the strongest feeling Mr. Sharky here will be one of the first to go. Why? Here’s why. More people would prefer to see a cuddly, furry, cute animated penguin emoticon. Okay, so maybe I’m a bit harsh to the shark. Blame it on the movie that scared the wits out of me. Let’s just say, the shark facebook emoticon will slide down to number three.

So, if you were to create a new Facebook Emoticon, what would it be?

If you do not yet have the account, you go to the internet and hit facebook.com. Sign up and wait for its activation. Most of the times you will be lead to your real email account to activate so it would be much better if you have one like yahoomail or gmail account for that matter.

After that you will then be transferred to your personal page and then you upload one photo so that the people you will be adding will recognize you. Scan the “Friends Suggestion”. Take note that you can only start communicating or chatting with them if they have already accepted your friend’s request. And that request will be actually subject to confirmation with them as the user of the account.

If you also want, you can add people who are of the same interest as you. Make use of search filters as an option to do this so that your search will be easier and faster. There are groups and fan clubs which might interest you. Go and add some members in there.

So now if in the next few days you have accepted friend’s request, they will be viewed in the lower right corner that are online. You see the word “Chat” below. Press options if you wanted to group your friends or chat with them as it is. Grouping them will make a difference as you can either be offline in the other group and online with the other one. Through that, you will be more organized with your chats. Not only that, you can now also comment in their walls. Extremely easy, right?
